| Abstract: | Current instructional design models and methods were developed to design instruction for delivery on personal desktop computers that have large screens and are located in learners' homes or workplaces. However, there is a trend towards the use of mobile devices to deliver learning materials, and for students to learn anytime and anywhere. The use of mobile devices for learning has implications as to how learning materials are designed using learning theories and instructional design principles. This paper will describe learning theories and instructional design principles for the design of learning materials for mobile devices and the use of intelligent agents to customise learning materials for individual learners. |
